Optimization of flexible components of multibody systems via equivalent static loads

Results from simulations in RecurDyn can be linked to other CAE programs to solve complex multibody design problems such as redesigning a pelvis part of a biped humanoid. RecurDyn can be used to find accurate loading conditions for FEA. The result is that a high fidelity model could be constructed which draws upon the strengths of multibody dynamics and finite element analysis.

RecurDyn can simulate complex assemblies and structures such as can be found in a CV joint. Tools within RecurDyn can aid in the careful replication of initial, pre-loaded conditions. The initial conditions have a large effect on the fidelity of the simulation.

Multi Flexible Body Dynamics Using Incremental Finite Element Formulation

This paper demonstrates an incremental finite element formulation for solving multi flexible body dynamics (MFBD) problems. RecurDyn implements this method and as a result can solve complex flexible body dynamics problems with large deformations.
