Abstract
A dynamics model of the tracked vehicle was constructed based on RecurDyn, an analysis software of multibody dynamics. The modeling principle of the road was introduced, and the road models were constructed. Then the dynamic analysis of the tracked vehicle under the actual conditions was introduced. Simulations of the tracked vehicle on the hard road and the dry sand road were implemented respectively. The results of the simulations were analyzed and discussed. Mechanics performances of the important parts of the tracked vehicle was obtained, which provided a real external condition to the analysis of the planetary gear train.
How Multibody Dynamics Simulation Technology is Used
RecurDyn was used to model a tracked vehicle on solid road and dry sand road. Data about the force between the track links and the ground, as well as the velocity of the planetary gear train, were obtained from this model. RecurDyn’s Track (HM) toolkit saves time by simplifying the modeling and contact definition for a tracked vehicle.
