Brant Ross to Speak at National Manufacturing Week

Topic is “Better Mechanical System Design Through Mechanical Simulation”

February 28, 2005 — YPSILANTI, Mich. – Brant Ross will speak at session #1D32 at the 2005 National Manufacturing Week Conference program on Monday, 10-7-05 at 10:30 am-11:20 am at McCormick Place, Chicago, IL

Dr. Ross will discuss the following:

“Until now, Multi-Body Dynamics simulation software was limited to working with models that had less than 30 rigid bodies under ideal conditions. Now, with a new generation of computational techniques, you can simulate models with hundreds of bodies, rigid and flexible, as well as extensive contact in the system. Find out how companies with automotive, off-highway, machinery and electro-mechanical products are using this technology to improve their designs and decrease the risk of developing new products. Learn why adding the proper amount of detail to a mechanical model makes all the difference in its accuracy under a variety of conditions. See how the mechanical models can be integrated with controls systems. Measure the process improvement of using preconfigured modules to build and simulate devices with chains, belts and/or gears.”

This year there are over 300 conference sessions that have been tailored to meet the needs of the manufacturing industry. Complimenting these sessions will be over 1,000 exhibits throughout eight separate, yet inter-related events: To find out more about National Manufacturing Week, please visit www.manufacturingweek.com.
